Product Features

Here is a stunning lidded garlic jar or potpourri pot or mushroom keeper with a pierced lid is from Cole Pottery in Seagrove, NC, dating from the early 1980s. This striking piece is a hard-to-find piece. It has a creamy mint green and red eye gravy over glaze. The piece with the lid is 6.25 inches tall and 6 inches across at the widest point. This heavy piece, without packing, weighs a little over 2 pounds. The base shows three stilt wad marks, as many of the pieces from Cole pottery have on the bottom. Marked on the bottom: G. F. Cole, Cole Pottery, Cox Mill Rd, Sanford, NC.History: General Foister Cole is the son of A.R. Cole, and the brother of Celia and Neolia Cole. G.F. (1919 - 1991) continued the long standing pottery tradition of the Cole family. His father Arthur Ray was a fourth-generation potter. G.F. began making pots as a child with his father, and left the pottery in 1959 when he says his designs and his fathers became too much alike. G.F. and Peggy returned to Sanford after retirement in 1977 and opened a pottery in Sanford, NC. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or stains, were only stored and not used. Will ship quickly USPS. Love to combine shipping. Thanks. My shipping price includes my actual postage cost as well as packing/handling cost (bubble wrap, boxes, tape, envelopes, etc.) with transportation to post office and my time. It entails more than the postage stamp amount when it arrives to you. Also note that I recycle materials as much as possible - saving the environment. All that being said I do try hard to be reasonable. Please leave feedback when the item is received and I will do the same for you.
